Don’t let moving discourage you from celebrating with loved ones this season! Moving can be overwhelming any time of the year, but especially during the months of December and January. While a holiday season move might not be ideal, it doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun with it and be festive! Here are a few tips to keep the holiday spirit going during a move!

  • Be Festive! Just because you’re moving doesn’t mean you can’t keep the holiday spirit going during this season. Decorate your home as you would, but continue to pack up. Prioritize your packing in such way that the holiday goods are the last to be packed up. It’s always good to make your home give out a good holiday feeling.

 

  • Label, label, label!! While you should always label your boxes it is particularly important during the holidays. You need to ensure that after you move you know where all of your items and holiday decorations are. Include the contents of the box, the room in which it belongs to, and whether or not it is fragile.

 

  • If you must move mid-holiday…  It’s not the end of the world! Leave holiday decorations up in your living or family room so that it feels like you’re “home for the holidays.” Just wait to pack up the decorated room the day before you move out.
