Essentials Box: An Essential For Moving Day
Moving into a new home is always a big ordeal with the packing, hiring movers, unpacking and moving the family to a new location. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the little things, such as packing an essentials box for moving day.
An essentials box can be beneficial for each member of the family. Here are some of things that should be in your essentials box to keep your moving day moving smoothly.
Water and snacks
Don’t forget to eat! Packing some portable snacks and bottles of water can be a lifesaver on moving day. Granola bars, trail mix, and even dried fruit make healthy, filling snacks to keep you and your family moving. Hydration is also key on moving day. You want to stay hydrated especially after you have been moving and unpacking boxes.
Important documents
You always want to know where your important or sensitive documents are throughout the whole process. This is why keeping them in an essentials box can help you keep track of their location at all times. These documents include birth certificates, passports, social security cards, etc.
Toiletries
You don’t want to have to make additional stops to the drugstore during your move. Packing things like your essential toiletries, a roll of toilet paper, dish towels, and some dish soap can prove to be a big lifesaver.
A change of clothes or two
Bring at least one pair of clean clothes for each member of the family. If the weather is less than ideal, these clothes can come in handy at the end of the day. You want to be comfortable when you’re in your new home, and clean clothes are always a good start.
